boOop! Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 28, 2026
boOop! (“boOop!”, the “App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is an offline-first pet care and health-record application.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use boOop!.
1. Privacy summary
boOop! is designed to keep your pet information private:
- No boOop! account is required.
- Pet profiles, health records, notes, schedules, and photos are stored locally on your device.
- We do not operate a cloud database containing your pet records.
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not display third-party advertising.
- We do not track you across apps or websites.
- Your records leave your device only when you deliberately export or share them.
- Limited technical crash information may be sent to our crash-reporting provider to help us fix errors.
2. Information stored on your device
Depending on how you use the App, boOop! may store:
- Pet names, species, breeds, birth dates, sex, neuter status, and weight
- Pet profile and vaccination photos
- Veterinary visits, clinic or veterinarian names, vaccinations, medications, dosages, symptoms, and health observations
- Food, activity, grooming, reproductive-cycle, and routine information
- Notes and photographs attached to records
- Reminder schedules and completion history
- App preferences, appearance settings, onboarding status, and boOop+ entitlement status
This information is stored in the App’s private local database and local application storage.
We do not receive this information during ordinary use.
3. Photos and camera access
With your permission, boOop! can access your photo library or camera so that you can add pet photographs and record attachments.
Selected or captured images are resized and copied into the App’s local storage. They are not automatically uploaded to us.
You can revoke camera or photo-library access through your device settings. Revoking access prevents future selection or capture but does not automatically delete images already copied into boOop!.
4. Notifications
With your permission, boOop! schedules local device notifications for pet-care reminders.
These notifications are created and managed on your device. boOop! does not use a remote push-notification server for routine reminders.
Notification text may include pet names or reminder descriptions and may appear on your lock screen. You can control notification visibility and permissions through your device settings.
5. Exports, backups, reports, and sharing
boOop! lets you create:
- JSON data exports
- Complete ZIP backups that may include photos
- PDF veterinary reports
These files may contain sensitive pet-care information, notes, schedules, and photographs.
When you use the device share sheet, document picker, cloud-storage application, email client, messaging application, or another destination, the selected service receives the file under its own privacy policy. We do not control how that destination stores or uses it.
You are responsible for securing exported files and deleting copies you no longer need.
Restoring a backup replaces data currently stored in the App. boOop! does not retain a server-side copy from which lost records can be recovered.
6. Crash diagnostics
The release version of boOop! may use Sentry to receive crash reports and diagnose technical failures.
Crash reports may include:
- App version and build number
- Device model and operating-system version
- Crash stack traces and error messages
- Time of the crash
- Limited technical state needed to identify the failure
- A randomly generated technical identifier, where supplied by the reporting SDK
Crash reporting is configured not to intentionally send pet names, notes, photographs, exported records, advertising identifiers, account information, or precise location. boOop! does not enable session replay or advertising analytics.
Despite these safeguards, an unexpected error message could contain incidental information. We use filtering and data-scrubbing controls intended to reduce this risk.
Sentry processes diagnostic information on our behalf. Additional information is available in Sentry’s Privacy Policy.
Crash diagnostics are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to investigate reliability problems and according to our Sentry retention configuration.
7. Application updates
boOop! may use Expo Application Services (“EAS Update”) to check for and download application code and asset updates.
Update requests may provide Expo with technical information such as the platform, runtime version, release channel, request metadata, and IP address ordinarily associated with an internet request. Pet records, notes, and photographs are not included in update requests.
Expo processes this information under its own Privacy Policy.
8. Support communications
If you contact us at nerdwithchows@gmail.com, we receive the email address and any information you voluntarily include.
Please do not send sensitive pet records, photographs, backups, or veterinary documents unless they are necessary to resolve your request.
Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain appropriate records, and meet legal obligations.
9. Purchases and app stores
Apple App Store and Google Play may process purchases, refunds, device information, and store analytics independently under their own terms and privacy policies.
RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID, the product identifier, and the entitlement result, and uses them only to tell the App whether boOop+ is unlocked.
We may receive purchase status, product identifiers, transaction references, or entitlement status needed to provide boOop+ features. We do not receive your complete payment-card details.
10. Information we do not use
We do not use App information for:
- Third-party advertising
- Cross-app or cross-site tracking
- Selling or renting personal information
- Building advertising profiles
- Automated veterinary diagnoses
- Training artificial-intelligence models
11. Retention and deletion
Pet records remain on your device until you delete them, replace them through a restore, clear the App’s storage, or uninstall the App.
You can delete individual records and pet profiles using the App’s controls. Deleting a pet also removes the pet’s associated locally managed records and photographs.
Uninstalling the App normally deletes its private local database and locally stored App files. Files that you exported or shared must be deleted separately from their destination.
Because boOop! does not maintain user accounts or a cloud copy of your pet database, we generally cannot remotely access, recover, correct, or delete that database.
For questions or legally applicable requests involving support communications or crash diagnostics, contact us at nerdwithchows@gmail.com.
12. Security
We limit data transmission and use operating-system application storage protections. However, no device or storage method is completely secure.
Security also depends on your device passcode, operating-system security, backup configuration, and how you handle exported files.
13. Children
boOop! is intended for adult pet owners and is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum digital-consent age applicable in their country.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through support or diagnostics, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where reasonably possible.
14. International processing
Sentry, Expo, Apple, Google, RevenueCat, and support-email providers may process technical or correspondence information in countries other than your own. Their processing is governed by their respective privacy policies and applicable data-transfer safeguards.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, its service providers, or legal requirements change.
The updated policy will be published at the same public URL with a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated through the App or store listing where appropriate.
